Sowing the Seeds of Peace
Source/Credit: Times of Malta, by Laiq Ahmed Atif, 13.01.2020
It is always music to the ears whenever we hear the word ‘peace’ in the fractured world we live in. Keeping in view the current turbulent situation of the world, the gift of peace, harmony, love and affection to others is the most precious and unmatched gift to humanity. And no matter how much one extends the gift of love, peace and affection to other people, it is simply not sufficient.
Recently I read an article in the Times of Malta written by Archbishop Charles Scicluna titled ‘The seeds we should be sowing’. In his article, he drew the attention of readers stating, “The seed we sow should be one of peace, which sprouts tolerance and dialogue, not hatred. It should be a seed that emerges from a heart which is compassionate and caring”.
I think it is a very important message for all of us, particularly for religious leaders, and we should always try to become the catalyst of compassion, dialogue and peace.
Undoubtedly, no sane and sensible person can ever deny the importance of a serene and tranquil environment and its fruitfulness. The question is how to achieve this objective.
It is only when we are openhearted, and when we understand one another and listen to each other’s views and opinions with tolerance and respect that we can establish peace and harmony in society.
I sincerely believe that dialogue is vital and must be promoted and encouraged at all levels, without prejudice, favour or discrimination.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has always promoted dialogue between all sections of society and different communities, including religious ones. Dialogue is crucial for constructing a healthy and vibrant society.
Unfortunately, sometimes this means free speech and dialogue take the form of racist remarks and hate speech, as evidenced online. How to counter such hate speech?
Love is the antidote to hatred. Dialogue is the prevention to hate speech.
Education, understanding and awareness are essential material for constructing compassionate and caring societies.
How to sow the seeds of peace and compassion? True peace of mind and compassion requires for a person to recognise God Almighty and to develop a connection with Him because, according to Islam, one of the attributes of God Almighty is that He is the ‘Source of Peace’.
Islam instructs people to emulate, to the best of their abilities, the attributes of God. The Holy Prophet Muhammad repeatedly stated that his followers must be compassionate, considerate and strive to impart peace to others.
Additionally, the Holy Prophet Muhammad has laid down an incredibly weighty principle paramount for sowing the seeds of peace and compassion which states: “You should always like for others what you like for yourself ”.
This simple yet profound principle, if acted upon by all people, is the means for everlasting peace in society.
Therefore, it is essential to give precedence to love, compassion and peace over personal and vested interests.
I firmly believe that sowing the seeds of love, respect, harmony and peace at a time when division, hatred and selfishness are prevalent, is a great service to humanity.
In fact, excellence of social conduct constitutes the basis of every virtue; even spirituality is but an advanced state of good conduct. Highlighting good conduct, Prophet Muhammad said, “Nothing weighs heavier in the scale of God than the excellence of conduct.”
Religious communities should take a leading role in promoting the culture of peace and harmony. Let us unite to sow the seeds of peace in every part of our country and indeed all over the world.
Our Resolutions for 2020
Ir-Riżoluzzjonijiet Tagħna
Meta tibda sena ġdida, hija tradizzjoni li n-nies jawguraw “is-Sena t-Tajba” lil xulxin. Ħafna nies iħejju pjanijiet u riżoluzzjonijiet differenti għas-sena li tkun se tibda. F’ħafna partijiet tad-dinja, is-Sena l-Ġdida tiġi ċċelebrata bil-festi, bix-xorb u b’wirjiet ta’ logħob tan-nar tul il-lejl kollu. Kif għandna nibdew is-Sena l-Ġdida? X’għandhom ikunu r-riżoluzzjonijiet tagħna?
Il-Fundatur tal-Komunità Ahmadiyya Musulmana, il-Messija Mwiegħedas, qal: “Hija r-regola għall-ġusti li jqattgħu ħajjithom fil-manswetudni u l-umiltà.”
Dan ifisser li għandna ngħixu ħajjitna f’konformità mal-kmandamenti t’Alla li hija ħajja ta’ sempliċità. Is-Sena l-Ġdida m’għandhiex tkun eċċezzjoni.
Għandna nqattgħu l-ħin inqimu ’l Alla, infittxu r-rikonoxximent Tiegħu u ngħinu biex ikollna sena paċifika, sana u prospera. Ir-riżoluzzjonijiet tagħna għas-Sena l-Ġdida għandhom jagħmluna nies aħjar, kemm fid-dar kif ukoll fil-komunità, jgħinuna biex niksbu qrubija m’Alla, u biex insiru persuni li verament nixtiequ l-ġid lill-umanità. M’għandniex inżommu r-riżoluzzjonijiet tagħna għal ftit ġranet biss, iżda nsegwuhom sakemm isiru drawwa regolari.
Iż-Żerriegħa tal-Paċi
IŻ-ŻERRIEGĦA TAL-PAĊI
Bil-grazzja u l-barkiet t’Alla waslet fuqna sena ġdida – is-sena 2020. Fil-bidu ta’ kull sena ġdida, ħafna nies jissettjaw ċerti għanijiet li jkunu jridu jilħqu matul is-sena, bl-oġġettiv ewlieni jkun li jsiru persuni aħjar reliġjożament, moralment u spiritwalment. F’kuntest usa’, in-nies jittamaw u jitolbu li jkollna dinja aħjar fl-aspett ekonomiku, soċjali u paċifiku.
Biex nilħqu dawn l-għanijiet u nibdlu l-ambjent attwali li ngħixu fih f’dinja aħjar, aktar għanja u paċifika, jiena naħseb li kollha għandna nnaqqsu l-aspett egoċentiku tagħna. Għandna niżirgħu ż-żerriegħa tal-paċi, li jnibbtu t-tolleranza, ir-rispett u l-għaqda u nevitaw li niżirgħu ż-żerriegħa tal-mibegħda u l-firda.
Kif nistgħu niżirgħu ż-żerriegħa tal-paċi?
Fl-Iżlam, il-kunċett tal-paċi hu bbażat fuq żewġ aspetti. L-ewwel wieħed hu li tkun fil-paċi m’Alla u t-tieni wieħed hu li tkun fil-paċi miegħek innifsek u mal-bqija tad-dinja.
Iż-żerriegħa tal-paċi ma jistgħux jinżergħu qabel nagħrfu lil Alla Omnipotenti u jkollna rabta Miegħu, il-għaliex Huwa hu s-‘Sors tal-Paċi’. It-tieni, għandna nkattru l-mogħdrija, l-imħabba u l-ġenerożità f’qalbna għall-umanità. Għandna nkunu poplu li minna t-tjubija tinfirex għal oħrajn.
“Huwa Alla, u m’hemmx Alla ieħor ħliefu, is-Sovran, il-Qaddis, is-Sors ta’ Paċi, Dak li joffri l-Kenn, Dak li jipproteġi, il-Qawwi, Dak li jikkontrolla, in-Nobbli. Imqaddes Alla ħafna aktar minn dak kollu li jassoċjaw Miegħu.” (Il-Koran Imqaddes, 59:24)
L-Iżlam iħeġġeġ lill-Musulmani biex jimitaw, kemm jista’ jkun, il-kwalitajiet t’Alla. Il-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem għalih, iddikjara kemm-il darba li s-segwaċi tiegħu għandhom ikunu ġenerużi u rispettużi u jħabirku biex ixerrdu l-paċi fost in-nies.
Matul il-ħajja tiegħu, il-Qaddis Profeta Muħammadsa ippromwova l-armonija interreliġjuża, ir-rispett reċiproku, il-fraternità, l-għaqda u l-ġenerożità. Huwa enfasizza l-ħtieġa għall-paċi f’kull livell tas-soċjetà – min-nukleu bażiku domestiku tal-familja għar-relazzjonijiet internazzjonali bejn il-pajjiżi. Huwa dejjem ħadem għal soċjetà tolleranti u inklussiva – soċjetà li tagħti kas, li tħobb, li tkun amikevoli u qalbha tajba. Huwa pproklama li Alla Omnipotenti xtaq li n-nies kollha, minkejja l-isfond etniku jew it-twemmin tagħhom, jgħixu fil-paċi u li l-valuri umani jkunu rikonoxxuti u stmati.
Dawn il-prinċipji huma ta’ importanza vitali għat-tiżrigħ taż-żerriegħa tal-paċi.
Ejja naħdmu id f’id għall-paċi u l-prosperità għall-familja umana tagħna. Ejja niżirgħu tant żerriegħa tal-paċi li d-dinja timtela bil-ferħ, bl-għaxqa u s-serenità. Ejja nagħmlu s-sena 2020 sena ta’ għaqda u paċi universali.
Jalla Alla jagħmel mis-Sena l-Ġdida sors ta’ għadd ta’ barkiet personali u komunali. Nixtiqulkom Paċi, Saħħa u Ġid. Is-Sena t-Tajba.

Serving Humanity with Love and Compassion
Insara u Musulmani f’Malta jingħaqdu biex iferrħu lil min jinsab waħdu
Żmien ta’ festi u ċelebrazzjonijiet iservi wkoll ta’ okkażjoni biex uħud jaqtghu ftit mis-solitudni u jissoċjalizzaw f’attivitajiet u inizjattivi li jsiru għalihom. Waħda minn dawn l-attivitajiet kienet ikla organizzata mill-Komunità Ahmadiyya Musulmana flimkien mal-Għaqda Nanniet għall-anzjani li jgħixu waħedhom.
Fiċ-Ċentru Familja Mqaddsa fl-Imsida mitt persuna li normalment jkunu fis-solitudni ngħaqdu flimkien f’ikla tradizzjonali mħejja mill-Kommunità Ahmadiyya Musulmana f’Malta.
L-Imam u l-President tal-Kommunità Ahmadiyya Ahmed Atif, qal li f’dan iż-żmien ta’ festi ħassew il-bżonn li jorganizzaw din l-ikla għall-anzjani u nanniet li jbatu mis-solitudni.
“L-isbaħ ħaġa li niċċelebraw dawn il-mumenti ma’ ħaddieħor għax fl-aħħar mill-aħħar l-umanità hija komuni bejnietna nħobbu l-kommunità mill-qalb tagħna.”
Il-voluntiera tal-kommunità Ahmadiyya ppreparaw ikla tradizzjonali Ażjatika li kienet tinkludi ross bit-tiġieġ u ċ-ċanga, ħxejjex friski u deżerti tradizzjonali.
Ma’ Television Malta stqarr li l-ikel nnifsu m’huwiex ta’ importanza hekk kif l-aktar ħaġa sinifikanti hi l-imħabba u r-rispett li huma fil-qofol ta’ din l-inizjattiva.
Philip Chircop il-President u fundatur tal-Għaqda Nanniet Malta faħħar l-inizjattiva tal-Imam waqt li qal li l-għaqda Nanniet Malta qed tiffoka ħafna fuq il-ġerħa tas-solitudni. Qal li din l-ikla għenet sabiex tesponi l-kulturi u twemmin differenti fil-gżejjer Maltin.
“Innaqqsu xi tip ta’ razziżmu li jista’ jkun hawn. Li aħna nistgħu naħdmu flimkien bl-ideoloġiji tagħna ta’ tolleranza u solidarjetà u dawk huma l-valuri tagħna l-kattoliċi qed nferrħu mitt ruħ li f’dawn iż-żmien ta’ festi jkunu waħedhom fis-solitudni f’dawn iż-żminijiet ta’ ferħ.”
Il-moviment Ahmadiyya beda fl-Indja fl-1889 u illum huwa mifrux f’bosta pajjizi fejn hemm komunitajiet musulmani u b’differenza għall-fergħat oħra tal-Iżlam, jemmnu li l-qaddis profeta Mohammed diġà ġie fir-reliġjon Iżlamika u għamel ħafna riformazzjoni.
Ahmadiyya Organises Festive Lunch for the Elderly
Il-komunità Musulmana Ahmadiyya tħejji ikla għan-nanniet Maltin
Kull ma jmur l-għarfien u l-kuxjenza dwar is-solitudni, anki f’dawn il-festi qed ikompli jiżdied.
Il-President tal-Fondazzjoni Nanniet Malta, Philip Chircop qal ma’ ONE News li din l-idea nibtet wara li huwa iltaqa’ mal-Imam tal-Komunità Ahmadiyya Musulmana.
“Aħna l-fatt li qed niltaqu hawnhekk, l-Imam sajjar għal kulħadd u n-nanniet ġew bi ħġarhom speċjalment dawk li jinsabu waħdihom u jħossuhom naqa abbandunati fil-familja, illum qed nagħmlu dan il-ġest sabiħ biex nindirizzaw is-solitudni.” Stqarr Philip Chircop.
L-ikla għal dawn l-anzjani nkludiet platt ross, laħam taċ-ċanġa u biċċa tiġieġa msajra b’mod tradizzjonali, kif tissajjar fil-komunità Musulmana. L-anzjani dehru kuntenti jieklu ikel bnin filwaqt li qalu kelma u tnejn bejniethom.
Ma naqsux ir-rakkonti dwar iż-żmien ta’ dari.
Intant l-Imam tal-Komunità Musulmana Ahmadiyya tkellem dwar l-għan ta’ din l-ikla li għalkemm tiċċelebra l-festa Kristjana tal-Milied, għalih il-ġabra tan-nies flimkien m’għandiex tifred twemmin reliġjuż ma’ ieħor.
“F’dawn il-ġranet tal-festi hemm ħafna nies li hemm fis-solitudni, li huma waħidhom u hemm veru ftit nies li jmorru għandhom u jaqsmu dawn il-mumenti ta’ ferħ. Aħna l-Kommunita tagħna, Ahmadiyya Musulmana ħassejna wkoll li meta ngħixu f’din is-soċjetà, huwa importanti naqsmu dawn il-ġranet ta’ ferħ ta’ festi flimkien.” Saħaq l-Imam.
Matul dawn iż-żminijiet ta’ festi, il-komunità Ahmadiyya qed tagħmel diversi attivitajiet u toffri s-solidarjetà tagħha ma’ nies vulnerabbli.
Fost l-oħrajn, marret tgħin lil Caritas f’San Blas u tat sehem qawwi fl-ikla li ġiet organizzata mill-istess Caritas nhar il-Milied. www.one.com.mt

Il-President tal-Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta, l-Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif, għal darb’oħra, f’dawn il-ġranet sbieħ tal-Milied, żar lir-residenti li jinsabu fil-Komunitajiet Terapewtiċi kontra l-abbuż tad-droga f’San Blas u ferraħhom b’diversi rigali.
Waqt iż-żjara tiegħu kien milqugħ mid-Direttur ta’ Caritas Malta, is-Sur Anthony Gatt, il-Kordintar tas-Servizzi tal-Fondazzjoni mill-abbuż tad-droga, is-Sur Joshua Aquilina, il-Heads tal-Komunitajiet u wkoll Staff flimkien mar-residenti ta’ diversi djar f’San Blas inkluż tan-nisa.
L-Imam għadda messaġġ ferm pożittiv meta tkellem mar-residenti u spjega li l-iskop ewlieni taż-żjara tiegħu ikun li juri solidarjetà ma’ persuni li forsi s-soċjetà mhux dejjem tħares lejhom b’lenti pożittiva. L-Imam Ahmed Atif kompla jgħid li: “Nemmen li għandkom importanza fis-soċjetà u għalhekk ħassejt li għal sena oħra nerġa’ niġi u nawguralkom il-festi t-tajba, għax intom bħal dik il-karozza li teħel fit-tajn, li jekk issib min jimbuttaha se toħroġ mit-tajn u tkompli fil-vjaġġ tagħha u tasal f’dik id-destinazzjoni li tixtieq. F’dik id-destinazzjoni tasal bi sforz min-naħa tiegħek u b’ħafna mħabba minn dawk ta’ madwarek. Il-ħajja hija sabiħa u rridu nifhmu li ħajja waħda għandna u rridu nagħmlu l-aħjar possibbli minnha,” temm il-messaġġ tiegħu billi qal: “Meta tirċievi tkun qed timla idejk, imma meta tagħti tkun qed timla qalbek!”
Ir-residenti espremew il-ferħ tagħhom b’din il-laqgħa għax hija turija ta’ solidarjetà u messaġġ sabiħ lis-soċjetà ta’ kif għandha tħares lejn persuni li għaddew minn diffikulatjiet simili fil-ħajja tagħhom.

Il-Karità: Timla Qalbek
Fil-ġranet ta’ ċelebrazzjonijiet u mumenti ta’ ferħ li huma ferm importanti fil-ħajja tal-bniedem, ma rridux ninsew lil dawk ħutna li jgħixu fil-faqar u lil dawk li għaddejjin minn mumenti diffiċli f’ħajjithom, għal kwalunkwe raġuni. Għax m’hemm xejn aħjar milli
taqsam il-mumenti tal-ferħ ma’ dawk li huma inqas ixxurtjati, il-foqra u l-anzjani.
Il-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem għalih, qal li:
“Fittxu ’l Alla qalb id-dgħajfin tagħkom u uru dħulija magħhom.”
Għalhekk huwa importanti ħafna li niċċelebraw dawn il-festi flimkien u ninkludu lil dawk ħutna li huma foqra fis-soċjetà tagħna li huma ma jaffordjawx dawn iċ-ċelebrazzjonijiet, u lil dawk l-anzjani li jgħixu waħedhom jew fid-djar tax-xjuħ u mhux mal-familji tagħhom.
Il-ġest tas-solidarjetà jġib ferħ u sodisfazzjon ta’ qalb. Għalhekk mhux biss li nirċievu r-rigali imma nagħmlu l-karità u nuru s-solidarjetà tagħna mal-oħrajn, kif ktibt hawn fuq. Għax:
“Meta tieħu timla jdejk, meta tagħti timla qalbek.”

L-Iżlam jagħmel enfasi kbira fuq il-verità u jgħid li wieħed qatt m’għandu jigdeb, ikunu xi jkunu ċ-ċirkostanzi. Barra minn hekk, jgħid ukoll li wieħed għandu dejjem jgħid il-verità, u mhux biss il-verità, imma l-verità sħiħa u ċara, ikunu xi jkunu ċ-ċirkostanzi. Alla jgħid fil-Koran Imqaddes:
“Intom li temmnu! Ibżgħu minn Alla, u għidu l-kelma ġusta u sinċiera. Huwa jberkilkom xogħolkom u jaħfrilkom dnubietkom.” (33:71-72)
Ħażrat Mirża Ghulam Aħmad, il-Messija Mwiegħedas jispjega:
“L-ilsien ġie struwit biex iżomm mal-verità u l-onestà, kif intqal: [għid il-kelma ġusta u sinċiera 33:71]. Jiġifieri, wieħed għandu jlissen dak li huwa assolutament vera, għalkollox sewwa, u nieqes kompletament mill-vanità, mill-frugħa u mill-falzità.” (Ruħani Khażain, vol. 1, p. 209-210)
Għalhekk, huwa prinċipju istruttiv tal-Koran Imqaddes li, meta titkellem, trid tgħid il-verità, titkellem b’intelliġenza u bil-loġika, f’mument u ħin propizju, u toqgħod lura milli tpaċpaċ fil-vojt.
Il-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem fuqu, qal:
“Warrab dak kollu li jġagħlek tiddubita u ggranfa ma’ dak li hu nieqes mid-dubju, għaliex il-verità ssabbar, il-falzità tinkwetak.” (Tirmizi)
“Ftehim dwar bejgħ jista’ jitranġa sakemm il-bejjiegħ u x-xerrej jinfirdu. Jekk jgħidu l-verità u juru dak kollu li hu relevanti għat-tranżazzjoni, din timtela bil-benedizzjonijiet għat-tnejn li huma; iżda jekk jigdbu u jaħbu dak li suppost inkixef, ma jkun hemm l-ebda benedizzjoni tat-tranżazzjoni.” (Bukhari u Muslim)
“Il-verità twassal għall-virtù u l-virtù twassal għall-Ġenna. Persuna tippersisti li tibqa’ tgħid il-verità sakemm quddiem Alla tibda tissejjaħ Onesta. Il-gideb iwassal għall-vizzju u l-vizzju jwassal għall-Infern; u persuna tibqa’ tigdeb sakemm quddiem Alla tibda tissejjaħ giddieba.” (Bukhari u Muslim)
Islam and Respect for Teachers
“Alla jgħolli fi gradi (ta’ ġieħ) lil dawk minnkom li jemmnu, u lil dawk li ngħataw l-għarfien.” (Il-Koran, 58:12)
It-tagħlim huwa waħda mill-aktar professjonijiet rispettati u siewja fid-dinja. Fil-vers t’hawn fuq, Alla jgħid li dawk li jingħatalhom l-għarfien ikunu elevati għal pożizzjonijiet għolja. It-tagħlim huwa prezzjuż u dawk li jgħallmu lill-oħrajn huma nies ta’ stima u rispett kbir. Il-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem fuqu, kien qal:
“Il-post ta’ għalliem huwa ugwali għal ta’ missier spiritwali.”
Ir-rwol tal-ġenituri u tal-għalliema huwa wkoll essenzjali għall-iżvilupp morali, spiritwali, fiżiku u edukattiv tat-tfal, u għalhekk għandna nuru obbidjenza u rispett kbir lejhom. Il-ġenituri jipprovdu l-ikel għall-ġisem tat-tfal, u l-għalliema jipprovdu l-ikel għall-moħħ u għar-ruħ. L-għalliema jipprovdu l-edukazzjoni, l-għarfien u l-għerf, u jdawluhom bil-fehim, u joħorġuhom mid-dlam tal-injoranza, u jgħallmuhom it-tajjeb u l-ħażin.
Minħabba r-rwol importanti tal-għalliema, l-Iżlam ta pożizzjoni għolja ħafna u drittijiet lill-għalliema, u huma meqjusa bħala nies rispettati sew fis-soċjetà.
Nistgħu nifhmu l-istima għolja li għandhom l-għalliema minn kwotazzjoni ta’ Ħażrat Alira, ir-raba’ Kalif wara l-Qaddis Profeta Muħammadsa, fejn stqarr:
“Jekk persuna tgħallimni kelma waħda biss, dan ikun għamilni l-qaddej tiegħu għal għomru.”
Bla dubju ta’ xejn, dan huwa attribut kbir għall-għalliema. Ejja nuru rispett kbir u nkunu obbidjenti lejn l-għalliema tagħna. Nazzjon li jifhem l-importanza tat-tagħlim, u japprezza u jirrispetta l-ġenituri u l-għalliema tiegħu dejjem ikollu suċċess u jistagħna.

Why ‘we’ matter most
Source/Credit: The Times of Malta, Monday, November 11, 2019, by Laiq Ahmed Atif
It is an extremely wise and universal approach to take all the necessary measures before the storm to minimise its impact. Foreseeing the radical changes and the challenges the world is facing, or may face in the future, the United Nations has chalked out holistic and ambitious, yet highly essential and achievable goals for sustainable development.
In September 2015, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. These SDGs are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for the whole of humankind.
When one thoroughly analyses these 17 goals, one understands that they reflect three dimensions: economic, social and ecological aspects of sustainable development.
Recently, the Malta Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society organised a conference to address these SDGs 2030 titled ‘Għal Kulħadd, Ma’ Kulħadd’. I found it a very timely, essential and informative event. Thus, this initiative is highly admirable and noteworthy.
Although there was representation of diverse stakeholders, I think that this message and drive should be taken to each household and to every individual.
Moreover, ‘each person should be a cog in the wheel of change’, to maximise our efforts in achieving these goals, and to maximise its effects, advantages and benefits. In the opening remarks of President Emeritus and foundation chair Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, highlighted the importance of achieving these goals: “If the set goals were urgent in 2015, the goals are indeed even more urgent now and require our participation, if we are to face today’s complex global challenges meaningfully and hopefully successfully.
Let us leave no stone unturned in our mission to achieve these objectives for the betterment of humankind before it becomes too late
Our natural environment is deteriorating, global hunger has increased. The Sustainable Development Goals call upon us to nurture our relationships with one another and with the earth: as one human family, in the only home that we have.”
What are these goals? They are: no poverty; zero hunger; good health and well-being; quality education; gender equality; clean water and sanitation; affordable and clean energy; decent work and economic growth; industry, innovation and infrastructure; reduced inequalities; sustainable cities and communities; responsible consumption and production; climate action; life below water; life on land; peace, justice and strong institutions; and partnerships for the goals.
The aforementioned goals are all interlinked and can be taken up all together. In so far as the first two goals are concerned, they required urgent attention. There are millions of people starving and it is not a matter of lack of food – rather, it is wastage.
According to the United Nations’ statistics, approximately one third of the food produced in the world for human consumption gets lost or wasted each year. Every year, consumers in rich countries waste almost as much food (222 million tonnes) as the entire net food production of sub-Saharan Africa (230 million tonnes).
If this food is preserved before being thrown away, it could feed the entire world population for a whole year.
As far as alleviation of poverty and creation of work is concerned, in the Holy Quran, privileged people are encouraged to give charity and take care of the needy and destitute sections of society. Furthermore, chapter 53, verse 40 of the Holy Quran encourages people to work hard to meet their daily needs. It also directs people not to hoard money in terms of gold and silver (Ch.9: Vs.34-35) but to invest and circulate money in the economy to generate more jobs. The Quran says, ‘and whatever you spend, He will replace it; and He is the Best of the providers.’ (Ch.34: V.40). It even defines the rules to spend money i.e. forbidding hoarding as well as extravagance and wastefulness (Ch.17:Vs.27-30).
These rules are paramount for the alleviation of poverty.
In relation to climate change and creating a better environment, again it is ‘we’ who matter the most. We can help the environment by planting trees, by being mindful while using water, by avoiding plastic usage, by saving energy, and by always being responsible in production and consumption. These will all affect our health and well-being. In addition, we should adopt a healthy lifestyle.
These goals might seem challenging and inconvenient, however, if we are truly and genuinely concerned about our own wellbeing and that of our children and future generations, then they will become easy and doable.
Let us leave no stone unturned in our mission to achieve these objectives for the betterment of humankind before it becomes too late and the situation becomes irreversible. Let us all play our individual and collective roles. Let us all unite in transforming our world into a better, peaceful and prosperous world. Original

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta organised its 3rd Annual Convention on 13th October held at the ‘Ċentru Familja Mqaddsa’ Msida, on the theme of ‘Serving Humanity’. The Ahmadiyya Muslim community annually organises such conventions to promote interfaith harmony, universal brotherhood, and to build bridges between people and to spread the message of love, hope and peace; and to join in supplications for the well-being of the society. Explaining the objectives of this convention the founder of the Ahmadiyya community says: “These meetings will lead to progressive strengthening of a bond of mutual love and affection.’’
Her Excellency, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, the President Emeritus of Malta, was the special guest of this convention. Her Excellency delivered a keynote opening speech and congratulated the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for holding this convention and said that:
“Such an occasion is evidence of respect, love and harmony. Promoting these values, of respect, love and harmony, in a world where unfortunately mistrust has become the order of the day, is truly encouraging. It is heartening to note that, such an initiative, as this convention, counters the waves of discord and confusion that seem to unfortunately dominate our human family, nowadays. I truly appreciate such initiatives because they create a balance to the sad mentality that seems to be taking over the minds of some of us. Such a convention gives us hope and lifts our morale over the tragic events of conflict between nations; of violence carried out in the name of religion; and of other forms of violence against humanity.”
Highlighting the beauty and effectiveness of motto of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Her Excellency said that, ‘I must acknowledge the fundamental belief of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community that emphasises the value of ‘Love for all, hatred for none’. I believe that this value should be a guiding light for all of us. This convention attests to this value as it creates an opportunity for us, to come together, irrespective of our diverse faith traditions, in respectful dialogue’.
Her Excellency also acknowledged the vision of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat and stated that, ‘I would like to reiterate my thanks to you Imam for your vision and for your genuine endeavours for the common good, in the best interest of our communities and of our one human family’.
The session started with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Yusuf Mohammad Bala. Imam Attaul Wasih Tariq presented the introduction of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat and the purpose of the convention. Hon. Ivan Bartolo, Member of Parliament, Ms. Margaret Baldacchino Cefai, the Mayor of Msida, Rev. John Anthony Berry, secretary of the Diocesan Commission for the interreligious dialogue, Rev. Ioan Iftimia from the Romanian Orthodox Church, Mr. Anthony Gatt the Director of Caritas Malta, and Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif, president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Malta, delivered their talks at the this convention. All the speakers highlighted the importance of serving humanity and of building bridges between communities through the basic values of compassion, love and respect.
Honourable Ivan Bartolo highlighted that together we can achieve everything and emphasised on the need of harmonies collaboration between all, and said, ‘together we can make it’.
Ms. Margaret Baldacchino Cefai, the Mayor of Msida, stated that: “It is indeed an honour and a pleasure to be once again addressing this annual convention of the Ahmadiyya – an organisation that has garnered a reputation, which is second to none for demonstrating its generosity towards those that need assistance and through its universal message of ‘Love for all, Hatred for none’. The Ahmadiyya is indeed a religious community that reflects values of peace and empathy.”
Mr. Anthony Gatt the Director of Caritas Malta thanked the Ahmadiyya community and said, ‘thank you for this invitation, I too feel very privileged to receive this invitation and to share this culture of peace and love for humanity’. He spoke about the role and services being offered by the Caritas Malta and shared the experience of collaboration with the Ahmadiyya community.
Rev. Ioan Iftimia from the Romanian Orthodox Church thanked the community for the invitation and acknowledged the services of the Ahmadiyya community and spoke about his mission in Malta.
Rev. John Anthony Berry defined ‘service’ in two words: ‘Readiness and attentiveness’. And said that, ‘when dealing with humanity, with human lives, we need to spread love wherever we go’. He concluded with a quotation of Russell Simmons: “Service is the key to everything in life.”
Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif, president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta Highlighted the point that, today’s world has become like a global village, as every nation is now inter-connected. As a result, more than ever before, it is the duty of all humankind to foster a spirit of brotherhood and mutual love amongst the people of all nations and of all beliefs. He said that: “Serving humanity is a hallmark of Islam. The entire Islamic teachings are based upon two fundamental principles of, rights of God and rights of humanity. Thus, we are taught that the worship of God and kindness to the creation cannot be separated from each other.”
He presented references from the Holy Quran and the life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be on him, in connection with serving humanity. He presented the Quranic verses that highlight the qualities of virtuous and the true servants of God. “And they feed, for love of Him, the poor, the orphan, and the prisoner, Saying, ‘We feed you for Allah’s pleasure only. We desire no reward, nor thanks from you.” (76:9-10)
He explained that, ‘it is this mother-like spirit of selflessness, compassion, kindness, sincerity and devotion, without seeking any praise or reward, that Islam requires Muslims to develop in their hearts for all of humanity and not just their own progeny’.
He concluded: “I pray that a spirit of service to humanity takes permanent root in society, so that we protect our future and leave behind a better world for our children and coming generations to live in.”
Keeping in view the theme of the convention, that is “Serving Humanity”, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, was pleased to present five wheelchairs to Her Excellency, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, for the Malta Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society, to which Her Excellency is the Chair; food vouchers for the needy people; 100 books to the Caritas Malta; fifty plants to Msida Primary School; citrus and olive trees which will be planted in the Gzira School; and a podium for the ‘Ċentru Familja Mqaddsa’ Msida.
People from different walks of life attended this convention. After the speeches traditional food was served and participants had more time to interact with each other.

Third Jalsa Salana Malta 2019 (Session 1)
By the grace of Almighty Allah, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta successfully organised its 3rd Jalsa Salana on Sunday, 13th October 2019, at the ‘Ċentru Familja Mqaddsa’ Msida. The convention was held in two sessions.
The first session was chaired by Imam Abdul Basit Tariq Sahib, Mubaligh Silsila Germany. It started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by a poem written by the Promised Messiahas. Imam Laiq Ahmed, President Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta read the message sent from Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaa.
This was followed by a speech by Abdullah Wally Sahib in English about the subject, “Does God Exist?” The next speech was in Urdu by Imam Attaul Wasih Tariq Sahib, Mubaligh in-Charge and vice President Jamaat Italy on, “Salient Aspects of the Companions of the Holy Prophetsa”. Then, Haroon Khan Sahib spoke in English on “Khilafat: A Divine Institution”.
Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif, President Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta then delivered a speech on “Holy Prophet Muhammadsa’s Devotion in Worship” in Urdu. Then, Yusuf Mohammad Bala Sahib, Secretary Tarbiyyat Jamaat Malta, spoke on the subject “What it Means to be an Ahmadi-Muslim?” in English.
The last speech of the session was by Imam Abdul Basit Tariq Sahib, Mubaligh Silsila Germany, on “Evils of this Age and Ways of Attaining a Pure Life” in Urdu. Imam Sahib very comprehensively and effectively educated the gathering about the ways of attaining a pure life and to avoid all ills. This session was concluded with a silent prayer.
Good Neighbours
“Islam repeatedly emphasises the rights of one’s neighbours and instructs Muslims to be considerate to their needs. For example, chapter 4, verse 37 of the Holy Quran imposes a code of moral values, which true Muslims must adopt and live their lives by and it guides them about how to interact with other members of society.
Where on the one hand, the verse states that Muslims must worship Allah the Almighty alone and not associate any partners with Him, it also commands them to show compassion and love to all mankind. First of all, the verse calls on Muslims to treat their parents with tenderness and affection, as our parents are the people who have loved us selflessly and made countless sacrifices for our benefit. Thereafter, Muslims are taught to be loving and sincere to their relatives and friends. They are taught to be sympathetic to orphans and to all people who are suffering or are vulnerable in any way.
The verse then categorically states that Muslims must fulfil the rights of their neighbours, including those with whom they have personal relations and those with whom they do not. Fulfilling the rights of neighbours means that Muslims must treat their neighbours with grace and compassion and be ever ready to help them in their times of need and to be a shoulder to cry on in their times of grief. It means to respect them and to hold them in the highest regard.
Who is a neighbour?
Furthermore, according to Islam, the definition of a neighbour is extremely far-reaching. The Founder of Islam, the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stated that a person’s neighbours are not just those who live in the immediate vicinity, but include at least the nearest fourty houses. Additionally, the Quran teaches that a person’s neighbours include his work colleagues and travel companions.”
(Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Spiritual Leader of the Ahamdiyya Muslim Community, 29th June 2019)
Does Islam Teach Hatred for Non-Muslims?
Islam, is the name given by Allah the Almighty to this religion (Quran 5:4). The word “Islam” literally means peace. In this single word, all Islamic teachings and attitudes are most beautifully and concisely reflected. So, how can a religion that means peace can teach hatred for others? In brief, Islam does not teach hatred and discrimination for any human being, whether Muslim or non-Muslim.
One of the fundamental teachings of Islam and one which every Muslim cultivates in his heart is that of brotherhood and equality of human beings. Since Islam considers the diversity of people and nature as God’s creation, respect for diversity is commanded. Especially noted in the Quran are “People of the Book”, namely Jews and Christians, who were always given a special place in Muslim society. Muslims are commanded to safeguard their right to worship and their places of worship, a command that has been historically followed, as is evidenced by the existence of old churches and synagogues throughout the Muslim world in places like Turkey, Palestine, Jordan, Syria, and Bosnia. Contrary to the common stereotype, Islam was not “spread by the sword”, nor people forced to convert, a fact again borne out by the existence of non-Muslim populations throughout the Muslim world. This same respect and tolerance was extended to people of other faiths.
Muslims believe that the Holy Prophet Muhammad(sa) was sent as “a Mercy for all the worlds,” and that he brought a final religion for all humanity. The very first leaf of the Holy Quran praises the Lord Who is the Sustainer of all the worlds (1:2), and its last passage urges us to pray to the Lord of mankind (114:2). Thus both the first and the last words of the Holy Quran present the concept of the entire universe, and not merely that of a God of the Arabs or the Muslims. Sometimes an impression is created by some people that the Holy Quran says that don’t make friends with non-believers. Such references are taken out of context. There is a mention in the Holy Quran about some people who are open and declared enemies of Islam. It is discouraged to make close friends with such people.
In a nutshell, Islam is a religion of love, compassion and service to humanity. The ethos of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community – Love for All, Hatred for None – is an essence and embodiment of the entire Islamic teaching. It is a crystal clear manifestation of the Quranic teaching of compassion and love for the entire humanity. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believes and practices this famous slogan and is always committed to serve fellow human beings, and to show compassion and love to all humanity, without any difference of colour, creed or faith.

Invitation: Annual Convention 2019
IL-KONVENZJONI ANNWALI (JALSA SALANA 2019)
Il-Konvenzjoni Annwali (Jalsa Salana) hija l-laqgħa formali ta’ kull sena tal-Komunità Ahmadiyya Musulmana mibdija minn Ħażrat Mirża Ghulam Aħmad, il-Messija Mwiegħed(as), il-Fundatur tal-Komunità Ahmadiyya Musulmana. Il-konvenzjoni annwali hija avveniment uniku li jġib flimkien nies minn oqsma differenti tal-ħajja u li l-għan tagħha huwa li ssaħħaħ l-għaqda bejn il-popli, u mal-Ħallieq tagħna.
Il-Messija Mwiegħedas iddeskriva l-iskopijiet ta’ din il-konvenzjoni fil-kitbiet tiegħu. Huwa jgħid: “L-għan ewlieni ta’ din il-konvenzjoni huwa biex kull persuna ġenwina tkun kapaċi tesperjenza personalment gwadann reliġjuż; jistgħu jkattru l-għarfien tagħhom, u billi jkunu mbierka u mnebbħa minn Alla Glorifikat, il-perċezzjoni tagħhom (ta’ Alla) tista’ titjieb. Bħala benefiċċji sekondarji, din il-miġemgħa ta’ bejnietna sservi bħala introduzzjoni bejn l-aħwa kollha, u b’hekk jissaħħu r-rabtiet fraternali qalb din il-Komunità.”(i)

Are Muslim Women Allowed to Acquire Knowledge?
In-Nisa Musulmani Jistgħu Jiksbu l-Għarfien?
Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif, President Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta
L-għarfien huwa setgħa. L-Iżlam bħala reliġjon universali tenfasizza li l-edukazzjoni għall-irġiel u għan-nisa qiegħda fuq l-istess livell ta’ importanza, u l-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem għalih, iwassal l-idea li l-edukazzjoni hija obbligatorja għat-tnejn. Huwa qal:
“Huwa l-obbligu ta’ kull raġel Musulman u ta’ kull mara Musulmana li jiksbu l-għarfien.”
Il-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem għalih, ħeġġeġ lin-nisa tiegħu biex ifittxu l-għarfien u darba stqarr li “nofs ir-reliġjon tal-Iżlam jista’ jiġi mgħallem mill-mara tiegħu Ħażrat Ayeshara.” Tabilħaqq, wara mewtu, ilkomunità kollha Musulmana kienet tfittex il-pariri tan-nisa tiegħu.
Il-Qdusija Tiegħu, Mirża Masroor Aħmadaba, il-Mexxej Spiritwali Dinji talKomunità Ahmadiyya Musulmana, daħal fil-fond ta’ dan is-suġġett u qal:
“F’termini ta’ għarfien kemm sekulari kif ukoll reliġjuż, ftit bniet Musulmani kellhom l-opportunità li jkomplu l-istudji sekulari jew li jitgħallmu dwar twemminhom u jkattru l-għarfien reliġjuż tagħhom. Din hija ħasra u ta’ min jikkundannaha bil-qawwa, għaliex il-Qaddis Profeta Muħammadsa ta importanza kbira u valur immens lill-edukazzjoni u t-taħriġ morali tan-nisa u l-bniet. Madanakollu, maż-żmien, din l-istruzzjoni tal-Qaddis Profeta Muħammadsa ġiet aktar injorata mill-Musulmani u għalhekk innisa Musulmani baqgħu ħafna inqas edukati mill-irġiel.
Kawża ewlenija ta’ din it-tendenza sfortunata kienet li ħafna millhekk imsejħa skulari reliġjużi li jagħmlu parti mill-hekk imsejħa Ulema (skulari reliġjużi) ma ridux li l-għarfien jitwassal jew jinxtered, la bejn l-irġiel, imma aktar u aktar fost in-nisa. Bi ksur tat-tagħlim Iżlamiku, huma xtaqu lin-nisa li jibqgħu magħluqa bejn l-erba’ ħitan ta’ djarhom u għaldaqstant ma ppermettewlhomx li jiksbu edukazzjoni bażika.
Dawn l-attitudnijiet għamlu ħsara estensiva lill-progress fit-tul tal-Iżlam, għaliex b’hekk ma kienx possibbli għan-nisa Musulmani biex iħarrġu moralment lil uliedhom meta huma stess ma kellhomx għarfien ta’ twemminhom. Madanakollu din l-attitudni egoistika immens iddominat tul is-sekli u kompliet sakemm Alla Omnipotenti bagħat lill-Messija Mwiegħedas [il-Fundatur tal-Komunità Ahmadiyya Musulmana], biex bissaħħa tiegħu jkun hemm qawmien u tixtil tat-tagħlim ġenwin tal-Iżlam.
Bil-miġja tiegħu, barra li l-Messija Mwiegħedas ta importanza kbira lit-Tarbiyyat (it-taħriġ spiritwali u morali) tal-irġiel u inkoraġġiehom biex jieħdu l-edukazzjoni, hekk ukoll huwa ħeġġeġ lin-nisa u l-bniet Ahmadi biex ifittxu l-edukazzjoni sekulari u t-tagħlim reliġjuż.
Fil-fatt, kien hemm żmien meta l-Messija Mwiegħedas innifsu kien personalment jgħallem ir-reliġjon lin-nisa. Bil-gwida mbierka tiegħu, u sussegwentement bis-saħħa ta’ Khilafat-e-Ahmadiyya (Kalifat fil-Komunità Ahmadiyya Musulmana), in-nisa Ahmadi bdew jifhmu t-tifsira u l-valur li wieħed ikollu l-edukazzjoni u li jfittex l-għarfien reliġjuż. Bla dubju ta’ xejn, matul l-eżistenza tagħha, il-Komunità tagħna kompliet tippromwovi u tagħti s-sostenn lill-edukazzjoni tan-nisa u l-bniet u twaqqfu ħafna programmi jew pjanijiet biex dan seta’ jseħħ.” (The ROR, April 2017, p. 12-14)

L-Edukazzjoni, l-Għarfien u l-Iżlam
Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif, President Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta
L-edukazzjoni u l-għarfien huma ċ-ċavetta tas-suċċess. L-Iżlam u l-Fundatur tal-Iżlam, il-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem għalih, enfasizzaw immensament it-tiftix tal-għarfien. Wieħed jista’ jifhem l-importanza ta’ dan is-suġġett mill-fatt li l-ewwel kelma rivelata lill-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem għalih, kienet ‘Iqra’ li tfisser ‘Aqra’. Huwa kien ġewwa għar fuq il-Muntanja Hira, jimmedita waħdu, meta żaru l-Anġlu Gabriel u qallu:
“Aqra, f’Isem il-Mulej tiegħek li ħalaq; ħalaq lill-bniedem minn ftit demm magħqud. Itlob! U l-Mulej tiegħek hu dak li jagħmel l-aktar ġid. Dak li għallem lill-bniedem bil-pinna; għallem lillbniedem dak li ma kienx jaf.” (96:2-6)
F’dawn il-versi mhux biss qed tingħata l-attenzjoni lit-tiftix u l-ksib talgħarfien, iżda dawn il-versi fihom ukoll profezija dwar l-iżvilupp talgħarfien u li l-akkwist tal-għarfien jibqa’ sejjer sa jum il-ġudizzju. Aktar minn hekk dawn il-versi jenfasizzaw l-importanza tal-ksib tal-għarfien kemm dak spiritwali kif ukoll dak prattiku. F’parti oħra tal-Koran Imqaddes l-għarfien ġie deskritt bħala “il-grazzja kbira t’Alla”; din tgħid:
“Huwa jagħti l-għerf lil min jixtieq Hu, u kull min jingħata l-għerf ikun tassew ġie ppremjat b’ħafna tjubija; u ħadd ma jagħti kas ħlief dawk mogħnija bil-fehim.” (2:270)
Fi kliem ieħor, dawk biss li jirriflettu jistgħu jifhmu s-sinjali t’Alla u jersqu viċin tiegħu. Iżjed minn hekk il-Koran jgħallimna talba li tgħid hekk:
“O Sidi, kabbarni fl-għarfien.” (20:115). Il-kliem ‘O Sidi, kabbarni flgħarfien’ jixhed l-importanza kbira li l-Koran Imqaddes jagħti lill-ksib talgħarfien. Il-Koran Imqaddes jenfasizza wkoll l-importanza tal-għarfien għax dan ikattar l-imħabba u l-biża’ t’Alla. Huwa jgħid:
“Huma biss il-qaddejja Tiegħu li għandhom l-għarfien li jibżgħu minn Alla.” (35:29)
Madanakollu, l-għarfien, hawnhekk, mhux bilfors qed jalludi għallgħarfien spiritwali iżda wkoll għal dak tal-liġijiet tan-natura. Studju dettaljat tan-natura u l-liġijiet tagħha bla dubju ta’ xejn iwassal biex wieħed jintebaħ bis-setgħat qawwija t’Alla u konsegwentament jibda jħares lejn Alla b’qima riverenzjali. Il-Koran Imqaddes iħeġġeġ lill-fidili kollha biex jaħsbu, josservaw, jirriflettu u jħaddmu l-fakultajiet razzjonali tagħhom. L-għarfien iġib il-fehim u persuna bl-għarfien hija aħjar minn waħda mingħajru, kif Alla jgħid:
“Staqsi, ‘Dawk li jafu huma daqs dawk li ma jafux?’ Tassew, dawk biss li huma mogħnija bil-fehim se jagħtu kas.” (39:10)
Il-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem għalih, ta ħafna importanza għal li wieħed ikompli jakkwista l-għarfien u qal: “Fittxu l-għarfien min-nieqa sal-qabar.” Huwa rrappurtat li qal ukoll: “Fittxu l-għarfien anki jekk dan jinsab f’pajjiż ’il bogħod ħafna bħaċ-Ċina.”
Dawn il-ftit referenzi juru b’mod ċar kemm l-Iżlam jagħti importanza lilliżvilupp tal-edukazzjoni u l-għarfien. L-għarfien iġib il-qawwa mela aħna rridu nagħmlu ħilitna kollha biex niksbu l-għarfien.

ĦOBB LIL PAJJIŻEK, ŻOMMU NADIF
Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif, President Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta
L-indafa tagħmel parti mill-fidi u tressaqna lejn ħajja aktar sana. L-Iżlam jagħti importanza kbira lill-indafa tal-ġisem kif ukoll dak tal-ambjent. Dikjarazzjoni qasira tal-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem għalih, tenfasizza dan il-punt b’mod verament sabiħ.
Huwa qal, “L-indafa hija meħtieġa għall-fidi.” Huwa qal ukoll, “L-indafa hija ċ-ċavetta għat-Talb u t-Talb huwa ċavetta għallĠenna.”
Bħalma nieħdu ħsieb ta’ ġisimna, hekk ukoll huwa essenzjali li l-ambjent jibqa’ nadif u galbat. L-ambjenti tagħna għandhom iżommu livell għoli ta’ ndafa; barra minn hekk, huwa dmir tagħna li nżommu pajjiżna nadif.
Li nżommu l-ambjent nadif mhijiex xi biċċa xogħol diffiċli; jekk nagħtu ftit kas nistgħu ngħinu biex inżommu l-lokalità tagħna nadifa. Ma rridux inħammġu l-ambjent fejn ngħixu, it-toroq tagħna, il-bajjiet u l-baħar sabiħ tagħna. Barra minn hekk, jekk naraw il-ħmieġ madwarna, irridu nneħħuh u narmuh bl-aħjar mod possibbli.
Rigward l-indafa fit-toroq, jingħad li meta l-Qaddis Profeta Muħammadsa kien ikun qed jimxi u jilmaħ xi ħmieġ fi triqtu, kien ineħħih huwa stess u jgħid li dik il-persuna li żżomm it-triq nadifa tikseb is-sodisfazzjon t’Alla u premju kbir. (Muslim, Kitabul Bir Wasila)
Bil-barkiet t’Alla għandna xeni ta’ pajjiżna li jsaħħruk. Tara ritratti millisbaħ. In-natura hija ġentili ħafna magħna. Dan jibgħat messaġġ millaktar importanti li l-ħarsien tal-ambjent huwa r-responsabbiltà ta’ kulħadd. Pajjiżna huwa verament sabiħ u jeħtieġ li nkomplu ngħożżuh biex uliedna wkoll ikunu jistgħu jgawdu minn dan l-ambjent. Għalhekk, huwa ferm importanti li nħobbu lil pajjiżna u nżommuh nadif.
