Impatt ta’ Reklami Negattivi
Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif | Il-Leħen, Sunday 16 April 2023 | amjmalta@gmail.com
Id-dinja li ngħixu fiha hija meħuda mill-konsumiżmu u l-materjaliżmu, u jidher li l-valuri jitħallew lura ħafna. Biex jiġu kkummerċjalizzati l-prodotti u biex tinġibed l-attenzjoni tal-konsumaturi jew tal-klijenti, xi drabi jintużaw kliem jew frażijiet li b’xi mod mhumiex etiċi.
Frażijiet negattivi jistgħu jkollhom impatt fuq is-soċjetà fejn ekonomija orjentata lejn il-konsumatur hija mmexxija mill-marketing, li jinfluwenza l-għażliet tal-kummerċjalizzazzjoni. Kumpaniji kbar mhumiex mistennija li jgħaddu minn fuq il-limiti tal-moralità billi jużaw tattiċi promozzjonali immorali. Anzi, għandhom ikunu konxji lejn id-dmirijiet u r-responsabbiltajiet tagħhom lejn is-soċjetà. Pjan promozzjonali mhux għaqli jista’ jħalli impatt fuq il-kumpanija, il-prodott, il-klijenti u d-deċiżjonijiet tagħhom b’mod ħażin.
Frażijiet pożittivi
Minflok, frażijiet pożittivi u deċenti li jiġbdu l-attenzjoni setgħu ntużaw biex iġibu impatt kostruttiv fuq il-klijenti. Il-valuri etiċi qatt ma għandhom jiġu kompromessi fuq l-użu ta’ frażijiet negattivi biex jipperswadu lill-klijenti biex jixtru ċerti prodotti.
Il-billboards kbar ta’ spiss jintramaw f’postijiet viżibbli bħall-bliet u toroq prinċipali għall-promozzjoni tal-prodotti partikulari u sabiex jilħqu l-akbar udjenza possibbli. Strateġija promozzjonali għaqlija tista’ tiġbed attenzjoni li l-flus sempliċement ma jistgħux jixtru. Għalhekk, minflok li wieħed jimxi ma’ kultura jew ideoloġija partikolari u konvenzjonali, għandna naddottaw strateġija għaqlija li tista’ tagħti frott u riżultati aħjar.
Il-valuri u l-prinċipji
Il-valuri ta’ kumpanija—onestà, trasparenza, responsabbiltà, jew aderenza mal-prinċipji tal-kummerċ ġust—jistgħu jiġu enfasizzati bħala metodi promozzjonali bl-użu ta’ regoli etiċi tan-negozju. Għax dak kollu li jinkiteb u jingħad iħalli impatt fuq in-nies, u aħna bnedmin minħabba l-valuri morali tagħna. Għalhekk huwa ferm importanti li ‘valuri’ u ‘etika’ dejjem jingħataw il-prijorità fuq kull ħaġa oħra. Il-valuri u l-etika jservu bħala linji gwida biex jittieħdu deċiżjonijiet tajba u għaqlin. Barra minn hekk, biex wieħed jista’ jagħmel deċiżjonijiet tajba u relazzjonijiet onesti, kredibbli, u ġusti fil-ħajja ta’ kuljum, wieħed irid ikollu ħakma soda tal-prinċipji morali.
Hija r-responsabbiltà kollettiva tagħna bħala individwi, kumpaniji u awtoritajiet regolatorji kollha li nżommu għajnejna fuq promozzjonijiet li jistgħu jħallu impatt fuq is-soċjetà u l-membri tagħha b’modi negattivi. Diġà qed niġu ppressati minn kwistjonijiet differenti ta’ kuljum minn kull naħa. Iż-żieda ta’ aspetti negattivi ta’ reklami dwar il-prodotti se tkattar il-piż u n-negattività fuq is-soċjetà.

God, Where Are You?

Aamina Malik – Read this Article in Maltese
Together with my family living in London, England, I was raised in the denomination of Sunni Islam – the majority branch of Islam across the world. As I neared my late teens, I was introduced to beliefs of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
I Decided to research on my own, I studied the beliefs of my own branch, as well as the beliefs of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community – for 3 long years I studied hard, all the while turning to our Exalted Lord for guidance.
Prayer of seeking guidance
In my desperation I called out to He Who Responds, and just as His Promise in the Quran is that He is Near, I sought Him with upset, anguish and instinctive need. My mother said that I perform a specific type of formal prayer called Salatul Istikhara – one for seeking guidance when making a decision.
An enlightening dream
I saw a dream, and in this dream, I saw our most beloved master the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and he was stood amongst people who looked as if they had been dipped in the deepest pits of Hell. They were so black and burnt, and yet he was stood shining.
All these people were chanting over and over, “He is not the Prophet.” And as I walked through this crowd of people, I made my way to the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and looked at him.
How these people could deny our beloved Prophet as he stood so tall and majestic was beyond my understanding. To see him glowing almost blindingly white, with so much heavenly light emanating from his very being, the question that was on the tip of my tongue poured from my lips.

I asked him, “Are you the Prophet?” to which he nodded. To be entirely sure, I clarified with, “As in the Messenger of God (peace be upon him)?”, and he smiled. His blessed smile showed to me the renowned gap between his teeth, and I knew it was him.
Our beloved Prophet was shown to me and though he looked somewhat elderly, he was strong and firm. Upon realising he was the Prophet, I immediately told him that I knew where to take him, and I brought him to Baitul-Futuh Mosque in London. I led him straight to the office of the Caliph, the Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad (May God be his Helper).
I told our beloved Caliph that the Prophet was here, and he simply stated that he knew what to do.
Within moments, our Caliph was in the presence of the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, and without hesitation, he took Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be on him) right hand, and placed his forehead upon it. Suddenly, from all over, people came and placed their hands on our Caliph’s shoulders, and though I could not turn around, I also felt hands on my shoulders, and I knew from the depths of my heart and soul that the entire global Community was present for the initiation and pledge of allegiance. The Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was performing the pledge and initiation with the entire community, and in my shock and overwhelmed state, I quickly joined in by taking his left hand in mine.

God answered me
After the pledge was completed, I awoke, and it took a moment or two to realise that the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the worlds and Master of the Day of Judgement, had answered me; and He answered me so explicitly, that my heart was filled to the brim with nothing more than Islam Ahmadiyya. There was no room for doubt. My mind had been satisfied by research, but God the Exalted had not only satisfied my heart with His response to my Prayer Seeking Counsel, but He had also satisfied my soul.
Joining the folds of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat
I told my mother and siblings what I had seen, and my mother immediately recognized and understood that it was a true dream. Later during the annual convention, Jalsa Salana UK 2013, of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, my mother, my siblings and I joined the folds of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat.
Whenever I needed Him, God showed me He was there. It was simply up to me to take the time to notice, and to take heed of His Guidance.

What is the purpose of religion?
The religion is under constant attack. It is blamed for the rampant increase in violence, wars, bloodshed and disorder in the land. Some blame religion as to be irrational, illogical and without any purpose. The Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, the Promised Messiah and Mahdias, has enlightened about this subject and explained the true purpose of religion. A few excerpts from his writings are being presented here.
What is the aim of religion? It is only that man should have full faith in the existence of God and in His perfect attributes, and then deliver himself from his carnal passions and develop a personal love for Him. This, in fact, is the Paradise, which will find various manifestations in the Hereafter. To remain unmindful of the True God, and to keep away from Him, and not to love Him truly, is the Hell which will reveal itself in diverse forms in the Hereafter. The purpose of religion is to attain full faith in the existence of God and to love Him completely. (Ruhani Khazain, Vol.20, p.352)
How can certainty concerning God be acquired?
It should be clear that the true purpose of adopting a faith is that one should acquire such certainty concerning God, Who is the fountainhead of salvation, as if one can see Him with one’s eyes. The wicked spirit of sin seeks to destroy a man and a person cannot escape the fatal poison of sin until he believes with full certainty in the Perfect and Living God and until he knows for certain that God exists, Who punishes the offender and bestows upon the righteous everlasting joy.
It is a common experience that when one believes in the fatal effects of anything one does not have recourse to it. For instance, no one swallows poison consciously. No one deliberately stands in front of a wild tiger. No one deliberately thrusts his hand into the jaws of a serpent. Then why does a person commit sin deliberately? The reason is that he has not that certainty in this matter as he has in other matters of the kind that we have mentioned.
The first duty of a person, therefore, is to acquire certainty with regard to the existence of God, and to adopt a religion through which this certainty can be acquired so that he should fear God and shun sin. How can such certainty be acquired? It cannot be acquired through mere tales and stories. It cannot be acquired through mere arguments. The only way of acquiring certainty is to experience God repeatedly through converse with Him or through witnessing His extraordinary signs, or by keeping company with someone who has that experience. (Ruhani Khazain, Vol. 19, pp. 447-448)

Peace in our homes
PAĊI FI DJARNA
Kull bniedem għaqli jixtieq li jkollu paċi, armonija, imħabba u serenità f’daru. Imma kif nistgħu niksbu l-paċi dejjiema, u kif nistgħu ngħożżu atmosfera trankwilla bħal din fi djarna? Il-Fundatur tal-Komunità Ahmadiyya Musulmana spjega dan fil-qosor u qal:
Għalhekk, huwa importanti ħafna li dejjem inżommu lilna nfusna impenjati fit-talb, u nimlew kull kamra u kull rokna ta’ djarna bit-talb u bis-supplikazzjonijiet. Nimlew qlubna u djarna b’Isem il-Mulej tagħna sabiex kull ħaġa ssir imbierka; u sabiex kull rokna ta’ djarna u ġisimna ssir manifestazzjoni vera tal-imħabba ta’ Alla. Jiena nemmen b’qalbi kollha li l-paċi ma tinstabx fis-setgħa jew l-għana, iżda pjuttost il-paċi tinsab fil-benniena u fit-tifkira ta’ Alla Omnipotenti.

Love of God and forgiveness
Abu Hurairah, God be pleased with him, narrates that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said:
“Once there was a man who committed excesses against his own-self. When he was about to die, he told his sons, ‘Burn my body when I am dead, pulverize my remains into powder, then go to the ocean and throw the ashes into the wind. I swear by Allah, I fear that if God gets hold of me, He would inflict a punishment on me which has not been inflicted upon anyone before.’
Then the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said that the sons did as they had been told. But God ordered the earth to retrieve and return to all the particles that belonged to the man’s body from wherever they had fallen. Thus the man was brought before God. Allah asked him, ‘What made you do that?’ He answered, ‘My awe and fear of Thee forced me to do it.’ So God forgave him.” (Bukhari)

Ramadan a month of enlightenment of the heart
Every year Muslims fast for one month during the month of Ramadan. As the month of Ramadan is a lunar month, it rotates around the year. Every year, Ramadan comes around 11 days earlier than the previous year. This year Ramadan will start on 22 March in some countries and on 23 March in the other countries.
Islamic fasting holds a special significance as it is one of the five main pillars of the religion. Ramadan creates a spiritual environment in which we can focus on our spirituality, morals and prayers like no other month. Ramadan is a great month for the enlightenment of the heart. The prayer purifies the soul and the fasting enlightens the heart. Ramadan is a time of cleansing of the body, mind and soul. It provides an opportunity for people to reconnect with God and to make this connection stronger and lasting. It is month of to have communion with God and to serve mankind.
A moral transformation in Ramadan
The Holy Prophet Muhammadsa taught that abstaining from food and drink was not the sole objective of Ramadan – a moral revolution was required. He instructed: “Whoever does not give up forged speech and evil actions, Allah does not need his leaving his food and drink (i.e. Allah will not accept his fasting).”
Speaking about avoiding all unrest and quarrels while fasting, the Prophet Muhammadsa said: “When any one of you gets up in the morning in the state of fasting, they should neither use obscene language, nor do any act of ignorance. And if anyone slanders him or quarrels with him, he should say: ‘I am fasting, I am fasting.’”
Fasting for the sake of God
In another narration, he said: “Allah the Exalted and Majestic said: ‘Every act of the son of Adam is for him, except fasting. It is [exclusively] meant for Me and I [alone] will reward it. Fasting is a shield. When any one of you is fasting on a day, they should neither indulge in obscene language, nor raise their voice; or if anyone reviles him or tries to quarrel with him, he should say: ‘I am fasting’. By Him, in Whose Hand is the life of Muhammad, the breath of the observer of fast is sweeter to Allah on the Day of Judgment than the fragrance of musk. The one who fasts has two [occasions] of joy; once when he breaks the fast and he is glad about his breaking the fast, and once when he meets his Lord and he is glad about his fast.”
Tahajjud – Night Prayer
The Holy Prophet Muhammadsa would encourage his Companions to wake up for Tahajjud prayers regularly and concerning Ramadan he said: “Whoever prays during the night in Ramadan out of sincere faith and seeking its reward from Allah, will have all of his previous sins forgiven.”

Interfaith Fasting Event 2023

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta, together with Msida Local Council, Msida Parish Church and the Moroccan Community organized an open Interfaith Fasting event for understanding the concept of Fasting in different religions, to celebrate fasting together and to foster mutual respect and harmony. This unique event was very well organized and was attended by around 250 guests from all walks of life and religions. President Emeritus H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, Msida Mayor Ms. Margaret Baldacchino Cefai, Archpriest of Msida Parish Church Dun Mario Mifsud, President Moroccan Community sister Dounia Borg and President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif delivered their talks. The event was presented by Mr. Alex Zammit and Ms. Daniela.

Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif said that, according to Islamic Teachings the basic purpose of Fasting is لَعَلَّكُمْ تتقون – to become devout, pious, loyal to our Creator, to find Him and to strengthen the bond with Him, to become righteous, pure heart and generous; and so that we grow in our character. The purpose of fasting is to show love, compassion and solidarity with all the people around us. The word Ramadan in Arabic means ‘two warmness’, or ‘two loves’ – the love of God, and the love of humanity. During the month of Ramadan man grows in these two loves. When he makes physical sacrifices and does spiritual meditation he understands more what it means to be in love with God and with mankind.

Patriotism and anti-racism discussion in Msida

Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta participated in the first of a series of discussions at grassroots level on the subject “Patriotism = Anti-Racism”, organised by the Human Rights Directorate at the Kunsill Lokali L-Imsida. There was a panel discussion between five speakers and a subsequent open discussion from the attendees. On behalf of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Musawar Ahmad spoke about the need for integration and explained what it means to be patriotic. Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif said that the “Love for the country is a part of our Muslim faith” and that is the true patriotism to serve the country with all abilities and with complete loyalty and faithfulness. He said that ‘divided-loyalty’ does not make any sense. He also highlighted the need of learning local language as a departure point for integration and said that the revolutionary motto of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat – Love for All, Hatred for None – is in essence a guiding principle for building cohesive and harmonious societies.

He also said that the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Fifth Caliph, His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, has addressed these subjects at length in his book “World Crisis and the Pathway to Peace” and has provided a detailed Islamic perspective on patriotism, anti-racism, equality, equity, peace and harmony. http://www.ahmadiyya.mt/…/2013/krizidinijatriqghalpaci.pdf

Ningħaqdu ma’ xulxin
L-ikel flimkien hija tradizzjoni importanti ħafna li tgħinna nnaqqsu r-ritmu tal-ħajja u ningħaqdu ma’ xulxin, tipprovdi opportunità biex ngħinu lil xulxin u niżviluppaw bħala individwi. Li tingħaqad mal-familja jew mal-ħbieb, fuq bażi regolari jew għall-inqas darba fil-ġimgħa, hija ta’ għajnuna kbira biex noħolqu memorji ta’ ħajjitna.
Ikla tistaʼ tipprovdi biżżejjed ħin għall-membri tal-familja biex jitkellmu u jiftħu qalbhom ma’ xulxin. Se jkun hemm diversi kwistjonijiet li jistgħu jiġu osservati jew jinħassu waqt li niddiskutu r-rutina tal-ħajja tagħna fostna. Kull soluzzjoni tibda billi tiftaħ qalbek u taqsam li hemm f’moħħok ma’ ħaddieħor, u din taħdem bħala nifs u wieħed iħossu jerġa’ jgħix waqt li jaqsam il-problemi, l-ideat, l-emozzjonijiet u s-sentimenti tiegħu ma’ xulxin.
Il-familji nukleari jew estiżi
Karatteristika importanti ta’ dawn l-ikliet hija l-ġabra li ġġib l-għaqda u l-aċċettazzjoni fost il-familji u li tħallina naqsmu l-ħsibijiet u l-problemi ma’ xulxin. Jekk xi ħadd ikollu bżonn il-membri tal-familja jkunu l-ewwel li joffru l-appoġġ tagħhom. Is-sistema tal-familja nukleari wasslitna f’xifer fejn irridu nonfqu fuq l-istess komoditajiet iżda separatament, li żiedet fl-ispejjeż tagħna. Il-membri tal-familji estiżi kienu jgħixu qrib ħafna ta’ xulxin, filwaqt li llum il-ġurnata, kollha marru joqogħdu f’postijiet differenti. Il-globalizzazzjoni żiedet il-parti tagħha biex ittellaq lill-għeżież minn bliet differenti għal diversi pajjiżi anke lejn kontinenti diversi. Dan il-bogħod ukoll ġab ħafna sfidi għall-familji.
Il-ħtieġa ta’ żminijietna
L-anzjani ħafna drabi jispiċċaw fid-djar tax-xjuħ u t-tfal żgħar jgħaddu l-ġurnata tagħhom fiċ-ċentri ta’ kura. Fil-każ ta’ adolexxenti, huma jitħallew weħidhom fid-dar bil-periklu tal-midja soċjali u l-apparat teknoloġiku li ħallew ukoll impatt negattiv fuqhom. Wasslithom biex iżommu ’l bogħod mill-ġenituri; u s-sbuħija tal-għaqda f’familja tidher nieqsa ma’ kull ġurnata li tgħaddi. Il-ħtieġa urġenti taż-żmien hija li nibdew naqsmu l-mumenti flimkien. Żjarat frekwenti lil xulxin se jġibu lill-membri tal-familja flimkien u jgħinuhom javviċinaw lil xulxin f’suġġerimenti jew esplorazzjoni ta’ ideat ġodda. Toqgħodx lura u ċempel lil xi ħadd mill-familja tiegħek u stedinhom fuq kikkra te jew kafè biex tgħożżu l-memorji sbieħ u tiddiskutu ideat għal futur tajjeb flimkien. Bla dubju ta’ xejn l-ikel flimkien hija tradizzjoni sabiħa li ġġib ferħ, għaqda, kuntentizza, saħħa u sliem.

Preventing youth from addiction
Muskan Atif, Ahmadi Student
What is an addiction? (Read this article in Maltese)
Addiction is such a habit that a person can’t live without, for example smoking. If a person smokes every day, and cannot live one day without smoking, that confirms that this person is addicted to smoking. All addictions are bad, harmful and injurious to one’s health and safety, such as smoking, drinking, drugs or substance intake and gambling.
What are the negative effects of addiction?
Every addiction has an impact on the life of a person and effects negatively to their wellbeing. It destroys the health of the person who is addicted to anything, and the person looses the most precious thing which is good health, as the saying goes, “Health is wealth.” If we don’t take care of our health, we might get sick really easily and the treatment can be expensive. So instead of making our life miserable, how wise it is not to be addicted to anything so our health remains good. It is true that health is a real wealth.
Addictions effect negatively to one’s education. If a person is addicted to online-games, it will waste a lot of their precious time, and they can’t focus on their study, and can also fail in exams. So to focus more on education and not to have a brightest future it is important to stay away from every addiction.
Addictions also deviate from the real issues and main objectives. Moreover, it is wastage of money and resources when buying addiction needs.
Addictions can also ruin families or family life. In our society we find many family issues, breakages and sufferings, and many a time it is due to any addiction or bad habits. One person’s addiction can ruin the entire family, so it is very important to stay away from such bad things that make you and your loved ones suffer.
How to avoid addiction?
A simple question arises that, then how to avoid addiction? There are many ways we can save ourselves from these addictions, such as having good and positive friends and reading good books. We always read that “man is known by the company he keeps”. It is true that we learn from our friends and they influence our character.
The Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, has also mentioned what kind of friends we should have. “The example of a good friend and a bad friend is like that of the seller of musk (a perfume) and the one who blows the blacksmith’s bellows. So, as for the seller of musk, then, either he will grant you some or you buy some from him or, at least, you enjoy a pleasant smell from him. As for the one who blows the blacksmith’s bellows, then, he will either burn your clothes or you will get an offensive smell from him.”
Also to keep close friendships with parents and family members is very helpful; parents guide us about what’s wrong or what’s right. Spending time with family and to hear good advises from them and practice them in daily life. Watching good programmes or documentaries, playing any sport and keeping engaged in positive and voluntary activities are good means to remain safe from addictions.
What are the benefits of avoiding addiction?
There is all good when avoiding addictions such as to have good health, can focus on education, save money and resources, remain happy and satisfied, have better career, gain respect in the society; and by adopting a right path we can become an asset to our nation and country and serve our country better.
Not bad or feeling good
Mhux ħażin, jew tajjeb u mbierek
Laiq Ahmed Atif | It-Torċa | Sunday 19 February | amjmalta@gmail.com
L-emozzjonijiet pożittivi jgħinuna naraw possibbiltajiet ġodda, li jagħmluha aktar faċli għalina biex nitgħallmu affarijiet ġodda u navvanzaw fit-talenti tagħna. Bħala riżultat, inwettqu dmirijietna aħjar u niksbu riżultati aħjar tal-kompiti u xogħlijiet tagħna. Nies li spiss jesperjenzaw emozzjonijiet tajbin għandhom it-tendenza li jkunu aktar ferħanin, aktar b’saħħithom, aktar intelliġenti, aktar kapaċi u soċjalment aktar kompetenti. Wieħed jista’ jżid l-attività tal-moħħ billi jaħseb fuq xi ħaġa pożittiva u ta’ tama.
Iż-żmien kontemporanju għandu ċentru tal-lingwa partikolari li huwa konness mill-qrib mal-kortiċi tal-moviment, li huwa dak li jmexxik fl-azzjoni. Użu tajjeb u ta’ spiss ta’ espressjonijiet lingwistiċi differenti jista’ jnaqqas il-kunflitt, itejjeb il-komunikazzjoni, isaħħaħ il-fiduċja f’oħrajn, u jippreżenta lil dak li jlissen dan il-kliem u l-espressjonijiet pożittivi bħala bniedem affidabbli u ta’ fama. Lingwaġġ pożittiv, jew l-użu konxju ta’ kliem u espressjonijiet pożittivi, jistaʼ jgħin biex anke aħbar ħażina tkun aktar sapportabbli u jista’ jnaqqas l-uġigħ u t-tbatija għal ċertu livell.
Kliem u frażijiet negattivi
Normalment nużaw kliem u frażijiet negattivi fil-konverżazzjoni tagħna ta’ kuljum li jimpedixxu l-konnessjoni ta’ komunikazzjoni fostna. Hija l-ħtieġa taż-żmien li nużaw il-kliem u l-frażijiet pożittivi biex inġibu l-pożittività, li se tassorbi n-negattività ta’ oħrajn u toħroġ il-vibes pożittivi qawwija fina nfusna.
Filgħodu meta niltaqgħu ma’ xulxin, ir-risposta tas-soltu għal “Kif int?” hija mwieġba bħal “Mhux ħażin”. Din tirrifletti li konna f’kundizzjoni depravata qabel u issa qegħdin f’kundizzjoni daqsxejn imtejba iżda xorta taħt l-influwenza taċ-ċirkostanzi jew l-atmosfera mhux sodisfaċenti. Jekk nibdlu l-frażi “mhux ħażin” bi kliem aktar inkoraġġanti u ferrieħa bħal “jien tajjeb ħafna”, “inħossni mbierek”, “eċċitat”, “tajjeb għall-grazzja ta’ Alla” bi tbissima se taffettwa l-moħħ u l-qalb tagħna fi mġiba ottimistika miżjuda.
Attività motivazzjonali
L-użu ta’ kliem pożittiv huwa meqjus bħala attività motivazzjonali, li tnaqqas l-istress, trażżan l-emozzjonijiet negattivi, ittejjeb il-kunfidenza u ssaħħaħ il-moħħ u l-benesseri ġenerali. Anke li titlob lit-tfal biex jagħmlu ċertu affarijiet jew xogħlijiet huwa aktar favorevoli milli tfakkar il-lista tal-affarijiet li “m’għandhomx jagħmlu”, imħabbra qabel ma tħallihom f’ċertu post jew sitwazzjoni; għax huwa l-fatt li l-kliem li nużaw għandu sinifikat, jinżamm fil-memorja, u għandu impatt.
Screening ta’ ġewwa
L-Iżlam jenfasizza ħafna fuq l-użu ta’ kliem pur, onest u ħelu, għax dan il-kliem jirrappreżenta lilna, il-personalità tagħna, il-familja tagħna, it-trobbija tagħna u l-manjieri li tgħallimna matul il-ħajja. Il-kliem li nitkellmu juri l-karattru tagħna; jipprovdi skrinjar tal-ġewwieni tagħna. Barra minn hekk, li nsejħu lil xi ħadd b’laqmu lanqas hu sew. Jew li ssejjaħ lil ħaddieħor b’ismijiet ħżiena, insolenti jew umiljanti huwa kompletament ipprojbit u skoraġġut.
Huwa rakkomandat li ssejjaħ lil kulħadd bl-isem li jħobb jissejjaħ. Din it-turija ta’ rispett tneħħi n-negattività mill-qlub u twassal għal effett pożittiv fuqna nfusna, fuq il-maħbubin tagħna, fuq il-membri tal-familja tagħna, fuq il-ħbieb ferrieħa tagħna, fuq qrabatna u fuq is-soċjetà kollha.
Tbissima hija karità
Il-kliem profond u għaqli tal-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad (il-paċi tkun fuqu) jispjega dan b’mod tajjeb wisq, għax kliemu jmiss il-qalb. Huwa qal: “Tbissima hija karità. Kelma ġentili hija karità. Kull għemil tajjeb huwa karità. Li tippromwovi r-rieda tajba hija karità.”
Kemm hu verament sabiħ li meta nużaw kliem ġentili fil-ħajja tagħna ta’ kuljum huwa qisu aħna nqassmu l-karità fostna; huwa qisu qed inxerrdu l-fwieħa tat-tjubija, tal-karità, tal-qalb tajba, tal-imħabba, tal-ħbiberija u tal-fratellanza.
Nibnu l-ambjent amikevoli u pjaċevoli
Jekk aħna napplikaw din il-filosofija li nżidu t-tbissim fuq wiċċna, din waħedha tista’ tiggarantixxi s-saħħa tal-atmosfera u tal-ambjent amikevoli, ferħan u pjaċevoli fis-soċjetajiet tagħna.
Għalhekk huwa importanti li nagħtu firxa wiesgħa għall-espressjonijiet pożittivi fil-ħajja tagħna. Ejja nimxu r-rivoluzzjoni pożittiva minn ġewwa u nxerrduha madwarna b’mod ġenwin ħafna sabiex is-soċjetajiet u l-komunitajiet tagħna jsiru residenza ta’ fwieħa vera u dejjiema ta’ rispett, imħabba, għaqda u benesseri tal-bniedem.

Respecting religious sentiments
Nirrispettaw is-sentimenti reliġjużi
Wieħed mill-prinċipji ewlenin għall-bini ta’ soċjetajiet paċifiċi u armonjużi huwa li nirrispettaw is-sentimenti reliġjużi ta’ xulxin meta ngħixu flimkien f’soċjetà multikulturali u multireliġjuża.
Ir-rispett tas-sentimenti reliġjużi huwa lezzjoni sabiħa għat-twaqqif tal-paċi u l-ħbiberija mgħallma lilna mill-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem għalih.
Darba, matul ħajtu, Musulman u Lhudi kienu involuti f’argument. It-tnejn sostnew is-superjorità relattiva tal-profeti rispettivi tagħhom. Jidher li l-konkorrent Musulman seta’ għamel it-talba tiegħu b’mod li weġġa’ s-sentimenti tal-Lhudi hekk kif resaq lejn il-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem għalih, u lmenta kontra l-Musulman. Malli sema’ l-ilment, il-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem għalih, wissa biex wieħed ma jkunx insensittiv lejn is-sentimenti ta’ ħaddieħor. U stqarr, “Teżaltawnix aktar minn Mosè.”
Tali kienu l-istandards għoljin ta’ diċenza u korteżija tal-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem għalih, mitluba mis-segwaċi tiegħu anke f’mumenti ta’ dibattitu teoloġiku jaħraq. Għalhekk, naħseb li wieħed mill-prinċipji ewlenin li għandna nipprattikaw fil-ħajja ta’ kuljum tagħna huwa li jkollna relazzjonijiet tajbin mal-bnedmin ta’ madwarna. Dan jista’ jseħħ billi nieħdu ħsieb is-sentimenti ta’ xulxin, u billi nuru attitudni ġenwina u ta’ mħabba u rispett lejn xulxin. Barra minn hekk, sabiex nistabbilixxu relazzjonijiet sodi, għandna dejjem ngħidu l-verità u kelma tajba; u qatt ma nlissnu kliem li jweġġa’ s-sentimenti ta’ ħaddieħor, u dejjem inżommu lsienna milli ngħidu kliem mhux xieraq. Għandna biex dejjem inżommu l-umanità kollha fil-konsiderazzjoni tagħna meta nitkellmu jew niktbu xi ħaġa.
Who are the Righteous?
Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah & Mahdias – the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, says: (Read this article in Maltese)
In actuality, there are magnificent promises for the righteous. What could be more than the fact that Allah the Exalted is a friend of the righteous? Those who claim to enjoy the nearness of Allah, without being righteous, are liars; in fact, such people lead a life of sin and transgression. They commit an immensely grave injustice when they claim for themselves the rank of sainthood and nearness to God, because Allah the Exalted has stipulated that one must be righteous in order to attain these ranks.
Divine Succour
Another condition that Allah the Exalted has stipulated in this context, or rather—one could say—a sign of the righteous as stated by God, is as follows:
Verily, Allah is with those who are righteous. [Quran, 16:129]
Meaning, God is with those, i.e. bestows divine succour, to those who are righteous. The greatest proof of the fact that God stands by a certain person is the succour and support that He bestows upon them. Since people are no longer righteous, the door to saintliness has been closed to them, and as they are no longer righteous, the gate of God’s company and support has also been shut on them. Always remember that the succour of God is never granted to the impure, nor to those who are transgressors, for divine succour depends on righteousness. The help of God is reserved for the righteous.
Affluence and prosperity
Then, there is another aspect as well. Human beings suffer from various difficulties and hardships, and have various needs. Again, it is righteousness that is the fundamental means by which one can see their difficulties resolved and their needs fulfilled. Righteousness alone is the path of deliverance from financial hardship and other difficulties as well. Allah the Exalted states:
And he who fears Allah — He will make for him a way out, and will provide for him from where he expects not. [Quran, 65:3-4]
Meaning, in every difficulty, he who fears Allah—He will make for him a way out, and provide for him the means of deliverance from the unseen; and grant him provision from where he expects not.
Now reflect and observe, what more does a human being want in this life? The greatest desire a person has in this world is to find peace and happiness, and for this purpose, Allah the Exalted has made only one path available—the path known as righteousness. This could be described in other words as the path of the Holy Quran, which is synonymous with the straight path (sirat-e-mustaqim).
True Happiness
True happiness, in actuality, is reserved for a God-fearing person, in relation to whom, Allah the Exalted states that there are two paradises. A God-fearing person can find more happiness in a hut, than a worldly person, who is a slave to greed and avarice, can ever find even in a magnificent castle. The more a worldly person acquires the material wealth of this world, the more they are confronted with afflictions. Hence, remember that true comfort and pleasure is not partaken of by worldly people. Do not be mislead to believe that abundant wealth, expensive and elegant clothing, and fine foods can bring happiness. Absolutely not. True happiness depends on righteousness alone. The Moral Miracles

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah & Mahdias – the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, says: (Read this article in Maltese)
Moral miracles possess great influence. Philosophers cannot fully be satisfied by verities and insights, but exemplary morals have a deep and penetrating impact on them. One of the miracles of the Holy Prophet, the Chief of the Messengers, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in the way of moral miracles is that once the Prophet of Islam lay asleep under a tree when suddenly he was awoken by a hue and cry.
Upon waking he noticed a Bedouin of the desert standing above him, sword in hand, who said: ‘O Muhammad! Tell me, who now can save you from my hands?’ ‘Allah,’ replied the Prophet of Islam, with the complete satisfaction and true repose that he was blessed with. This response of the Holy Prophet Muhammadsa was not superficial as others would say. The name ‘Allah,’ which is the personal name of God Almighty and which is that compendium of all perfect attributes, came forth from the mouth of the Messenger with such heart-felt emotion that it touched the heart of the Bedouin.
It is said that this is the Greatest Name (ism-e-azam) of God and it possesses tremendous blessings. But as for one who does not even remember Allah, what benefit can such a one derive from this name? Hence, the word ‘Allah’ was uttered by the Holy Muhammadsa in such a way that the Bedouin was struck by awe and his hand began to tremble. His sword fell to the ground. The Holy Prophet Muhammadsa then took hold of the same sword and said: ‘Now you tell me, who can save you from my hands?’ Who could this weak-hearted desert-nomad of the desert name? Ultimately, the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, exhibited his sublime virtues and said: ‘Go, I release you. Learn of clemency and bravery from me.’ This miracle of morality had such an influence on this man that he became a Muslim.
The true majesty
It is narrated in books of history that once a man came to Abul-Hasan Kharqani. On his return, the man confronted a lion to which he said: ‘For the sake of Allah clear my way.’ The lion attacked. But then the man said: ‘Leave me for the sake of Abul-Hasan’, and the lion left him. This event disturbed the person in question spiritually, and he turned back from his journey. Upon returning, he narrated this mystery to Abul-Hasan who said: ‘This is not a difficult matter. You were not actually acquainted with Allah’s name. The true majesty and awe of Allah was not present in your heart. But as for me, you knew me well and in your heart you held me in high regard.’ Hence, there are many a great blessing and merit in Allah’s name, provided that one gives it a place in the heart and seeks to learn its deeper essence.
Generosity a moral value
Similarly, among the miracles of the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, in the way of morality, there is another that on one occasion, the Prophet Muhammadsa had at his disposal a large number of sheep. One person is reported to have said that never in his life had he seen anyone possess such abundant wealth. The Holy Prophet Muhammadsa gave the entire flock to that person upon which the man immediately said: ‘Without doubt, you are a true Prophet, for such generosity cannot be exhibited by anyone else.’ Hence, the exemplary morals of the Holy Prophet Muhammadsa were such that the Quran makes the following statement: And thou dost surely possess high moral excellences. (68:5) (Malfuzat, Vol. 1, p. 96-98)
The Conduct of Godly Men
I am reminded of an anecdote written by Saadi in his book Bustan, in which he states that once a noble man was bitten by a dog. When he returned home, his house-folk noticed the dog bite.
A simple and innocent girl who was present said: ‘Why did you not bite the dog in revenge?’ The man responded: ‘Humans cannot behave like dogs.’
Similarly, when a person is abused and cursed by a wretch, it is incumbent upon a believer to abstain from responding in kind. Otherwise, this example of dog-like behaviour shall be applicable to such people.
The beloved of God have been abused with the worst of invectives and are grieved in the worst possible manner. However, they were always addressed in the following words: ‘Turn away from the ignorant’ (Holy Quran, 7:200). (Malfuzat, Vol. 1, p. 98-99)

Do not celebrate the death of an enemy
Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Promised Messiah & Mahdias – the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, says: (Read this article in Maltese)
“Even if an enemy of yours meets their death, so what? And if he remains alive, then what? To cause benefit or harm lies within the power and control of the Almighty God. No human being can cause harm to another.
Saadi has written an anecdote in his book Gulistan that someone brought the good news to Nusherwan that a certain enemy of his had been killed, and that his country and fortress had been taken over by Nusherwan’s forces. Nusherwan gave a marvellous response:
The death of my enemy brings me no joy;
For even our own life is not forever.
A person ought to reflect, what benefit and happiness can be reaped from such schemes and conspiracies? This train of thought is extremely dangerous and its cure is repentance, seeking forgiveness from God, reciting la hawl [There is no power and no strength except with Allah] and studying the Book of God. When a person is idle and inactive, this immoral mindset prevails for a very long period of time.” (Malfuzat, Vol. 2, p. 74-75)
Together for peace and harmony
FLIMKIEN GĦALL-PAĊI
Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif | Il-Leħen 5 February 2023 | amjmalta@gmail.com
Fid-dinja moderna l-bniedem għamel ħafna avvanz fil-kummerċ, fit-teknoloġija, fil-mezzi tat-trasport u ħafna iktar. Dan l-avvanz wassal ukoll biex id-dinja taffaċċja ħafna sfidi li qed jiżdiedu fosthom kif flimkien nistgħu ngħixu fil-paċi, kif nistgħu nsiru tolleranti u rispettużi lejn xulxin f’dinja li dejjem tinbidel.
Naħseb li kulħadd għandu s-sehem tiegħu fil-koeżistenza paċifika tagħna. Ir-reliġjon hija bla dubju ta’ xejn strument effettiv ħafna biex tiggwida lin-nies biex ikunu rispettużi ma’ xulxin.
Il-Komunità Ahmadiyya Musulmana, li dejjem temmen fl-armonija, il-libertà reliġjuża, il-koeżistenza paċifika u r-rispett reċiproku, minħabba dan id-dmir nazzjonali tagħha, organizzat il-konvenzjoni annwali dwar it-tema ‘Flimkien għall-paċi’ nhar il-Ħadd 30 ta’ Ottubru 2022.
L-għaqda u fratellanza
Din hija t-tradizzjoni tal-Komunità Ahmadiyya Musulmana li norganizzaw sessjoni speċifikament fejn nistiednu l-mistidnin mir-reliġjonijiet differenti, bħala sinjal ta’ għaqda, armonija u fratellanza universali.
F’din il-konvenzjoni annwali diversi kelliema taw id-diskorsi tagħhom u enfasizzaw fuq l-importanza u l-benefiċċji tal-paċi. Kulħadd kien jaqbel dwar il-fatt li l-paċi u l-armonija huma l-pedament tal-progress u l-prosperità tagħna.
Mingħajr Alla m’hemmx paċi
Il-qofol tad-diskorsi kollha kien li l-paċi tiġi minn Alla. Jekk m’hemmx Alla, m’hemmx paċi. Il-paċi qatt ma tista’ tinkiseb jekk ma nemmnux f’Alla li jgħaqqadna. Dan jista’ jinkiseb biss meta nifhmu u niżviluppaw ir-realizzazzjoni li hemm Benessri Akbar fuqna li jixtieq il-paċi għan-nazzjonijiet kollha u għall-pajjiżi kollha.
Alla li Jista’ Kollox għarrafna li: Huwa s-Sovran; Hu Pur u jippurifika lill-oħrajn. Huwa sigur mill-impuritajiet kollha u jissalvagwardja lill-oħrajn. Hu s-Sors ta’ Paċi vera u ta’ dejjem għal kulħadd.
Barra minn hekk, fil-Koran Imqaddes tgħallimna li Alla hu, “Mulej tad-Dinjiet kollha”. Dan ifisser li, Huwa l-Mulej tal-Insara, il-Mulej tal-Ħindu, il-Mulej tal-Lhud, il-Mulej tal-Musulmani u tabilħaqq il-Mulej tan-nies kollha. “Mulej tad-Dinjiet kollha” jiġbor fih lil kulħadd u jiftaħ l-akbar toroq u mogħdijiet possibbli għall-paċi u l-armonija.
Triq waħda biss li twassal għall-paċi
Il-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, il-paċi fuqu, għallimna li hemm triq waħda biss li twassal għall-paċi ta’ dejjem u dik hija t-triq ta’ Alla li Jista’ Kollox. U meta wieħed jemmen bil-qalb fil-Ħallieq kif jista’ jiġi injorat il-ħolqien Tiegħu?
Wieħed mill-kelliema qal li jekk verament irridu l-paċi allura rridu niftakru li, “il-paċi tibda minni, minn kull wieħed u kull waħda minna”. Huwa tajjeb li nixtiequ l-paċi, imma huwa iktar importanti x’qed nagħmlu aħna biex nilħqu dan l-għan. Waħda mill-kelliema enfasizzat l-importanza tal-paċi fi ħdan il-familji u qalet li huwa importanti x’wirt nixtiequ nħallu warajna u xi jfisser dak il-wirt.
Il-paċi bejn ir-reliġjonijiet
F’din il-konvenzjoni annwali Monsinjur Alfred Vella ta d-diskors tiegħu, u enfasizza l-importanza tal-paċi bejn ir-reliġjonijiet kollha u partikolarment il-paċi bejn il-Musulmani u l-Insara u qal li l-paċi hija possibbli. Huwa semma referenzi mill-Koran Imqaddes u l-Bibbja Mqaddsa dwar il-promozzjoni tal-paċi u l-armonija. Huwa qal li din il-laqgħa hija sinjal ċar li nies ta’ kull twemmin jistgħu jingħaqdu u jgħixu flimkien fil-paċi u l-armonija u flimkien nistgħu nibnu soċjetajiet aħjar u armonjużi.
Meta nistudjaw l-istorja umana nsibu li l-gwerer u l-konflitti ma kinux l-għażla tajba imma l-paċi u l-armonija kienu l-aħjar l-għażla għall-benesseri tas-soċjetà. Għalhekk, huwa ferm importanti li d-dinja tal-lum titgħallem din il-lezzjoni u għandha tbiddel id-direzzjoni tagħha lejn aktar paċi u armonija.
Nirrispettaw is-sentimenti reliġjużi
Wieħed mill-prinċipji ewlenin għall-bini ta’ soċjetajiet paċifiċi u armonjużi huwa li nirrispettaw is-sentimenti reliġjużi ta’ xulxin meta ngħixu flimkien f’soċjetà multikulturali u multireliġjuża.
Ir-rispett tas-sentimenti reliġjużi huwa lezzjoni sabiħa għat-twaqqif tal-paċi u l-ħbiberija mgħallma lilna mill-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, is-sliem għalih.
Darba, matul ħajtu, Musulman u Lhudi kienu involuti f’argument. It-tnejn sostnew is-superjorità relattiva tal-profeti rispettivi tagħhom. Jidher li l-konkorrent Musulman seta’ għamel it-talba tiegħu b’mod li weġġa’ s-sentimenti tal-Lhudi hekk kif resaq lejn il-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad u lmenta kontra l-Musulman. Malli sema’ l-ilment, il-Qaddis Profeta Muhammad, is-sliem għalih, wissa biex ma wieħed ma jkunx insensittiv lejn is-sentimenti ta’ ħaddieħor. U stqarr, “Teżaltawnix aktar minn Mosè.”
Tali kienu l-istandards għoljin ta’ diċenza u korteżija tal-Qaddis Profeta Muħammad, mitluba mis-segwaċi tiegħu anke f’mumenti ta’ dibattitu teoloġiku jaħraq.
Nemmen bis-sħiħ li m’għandniex għażla oħra ħlief li ngħixu flimkien fil-paċi u fl-armonija, u nippromwovu l-fratellanza u l-ħbiberija universali fost in-nies tal-ġnus kollha u ta’ kull twemmin. ‘Flimkien għall-paċi’ huwa messaġġ prezzjuż u siewi li d-dinja trid titgħallem f’dan il-punt kritiku tal-istorja umana.
