Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta participated in the first of a series of discussions at grassroots level on the subject “Patriotism = Anti-Racism”, organised by the Human Rights Directorate at the Kunsill Lokali L-Imsida. There was a panel discussion between five speakers and a subsequent open discussion from the attendees. On behalf of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Musawar Ahmad spoke about the need for integration and explained what it means to be patriotic. Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif said that the “Love for the country is a part of our Muslim faith” and that is the true patriotism to serve the country with all abilities and with complete loyalty and faithfulness. He said that ‘divided-loyalty’ does not make any sense. He also highlighted the need of learning local language as a departure point for integration and said that the revolutionary motto of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat – Love for All, Hatred for None – is in essence a guiding principle for building cohesive and harmonious societies.

He also said that the Worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Fifth Caliph, His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, has addressed these subjects at length in his book “World Crisis and the Pathway to Peace” and has provided a detailed Islamic perspective on patriotism, anti-racism, equality, equity, peace and harmony. http://www.ahmadiyya.mt/…/2013/krizidinijatriqghalpaci.pdf
