On Monday, 9th December 2024, Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif together with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community once again showed a gesture of solidarity and love towards residents who are currently undergoing a rehabilitation programme within the Caritas Malta therapeutic centres including the women’s programme.
During this visit, Imam Atif presented traditional sweets of this festive season to all the Caritas Malta therapeutic centres. Imam Atif also shared his message with the residents and urged them to be determined and committed to making this rehabilitation programme a great success. He said that for this dream to become a reality, it is very important that they use all their abilities. He explained: “If someone is very thirsty and drinks a drop of water, can a drop of water quench a great thirst? Thirst can be quenched only if a person drinks a whole bowl of water. Similarly, a little effort is not enough to reach your destination; however, you should work hard to the best of your ability and capacity.”
He continued: “Do not let those who sell drugs destroy your lives and the dreams of your families and children. Therefore, those who attract you or influence you in any way towards drugs are a match through which you can light a great fire, but those who use drugs are the great flame, who end up harming themselves, their families and their loved ones.”
The Clinical Coordinator of Rehabilitation Services within Caritas Malta, Mr. Ian Diacono, accompanied Iman Atif during this visit. He expressed his appreciation for the friendship that has developed between the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and Caritas Malta and also acknowledged the support that this Community gives to Caritas throughout the years. He acknowledged with appreciation that this is the eighth year of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s visit. The residents also showed their appreciation for the gifts they received and also expressed how much such a visit means to them, and a message of courage, love and solidarity. Newsbook.com.mt – Torca
