The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta invited 50 members from the grandparents’ organization Nanniet Malta, led by the Founder, Mr. Philip Chircop, to experience and celebrate together Eid-Ul-Fitr Celebration. Eid-ul-Fitr means “the feast of breaking the fast.” Eid-ul-Fitr is a religious celebration observed on the day following of the end of Ramadan – the month of fasting. It is a day of much rejoicing and happiness especially by those fortunate persons who observed the fasts and reaped the spiritual fruits of this holy exercise in accordance with the directions of God in the Holy Quran.
The event was started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by brief speeches by the Founder of Nanniet Malta, Mr. Philip Chircop, and Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif, President Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta. Then a brief documentary about the introduction of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat and its services worldwide was shown, which was followed by a traditional lunch which was also enjoyed and liked by all the guests. The meeting ended with a discussion sharing testimonies of experiences about the cultures and customs of the two sides, as experienced by some people who were present.
Participants also asked different questions to learn about the Ramadan, Muslim fasting and the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebrations, which were answered by Imam Laiq Ahmed Atif.
